Tinting & Perming FAQ's

TINTING

Q. What is Tinting?

A. Tinting is using a semi-permanent vegetable dye to enhance color, shape, and thickness — or all of the above of your eyebrows and / or eyelashes. The benefits are immediate.

Q. How long does it take to tint your eyebrows?

A. It can take around 10-15 minutes. The tint takes about 5-10 minutes to develop, after which it will be removed using a cotton wipe. The tint is likely to stain the skin between the brow hairs initially, making them appear darker in the first day or so than they really are.

Q. How long does it take to get your eyelashes tinted?

A. Eyelashes can take around 20-25 minutes. The tint takes about 15 minutes to develop on the eyelashes.

Q. How long does the eyebrow and eyelash tinting last for ?

A. Both tints typically last three to four weeks, but it can vary from person to person. Some clients see the tint start to fade after two to three weeks. You can help extend your dye job by keeping brows and eyelashes moisturized.

Q. What color should my eyebrows be if my hair is black?

A. You should always fill brows in with a color that is slightly lighter than brow hair. If you have dark brown hair, use a light/medium brown brow pencil. If you have light brown hair, use a taupe/dark blond pencil, and so on.

Q. Can you have a shower after eyelash tint?

A. You should avoid oil based moisturizers, face washes and face products, else it will break down the tint faster. It is perfectly fine and safe to take a shower after tinting.

Q. Can you go swimming with tinted eyebrows?

A. Strong UV light can fade the tint quicker. Avoid touching/rubbing your eyes straight after the tint application. Do not have a hot bath/shower or use a sauna, steam room or swimming pool for 24 hours.

PERMING

Q. What is Eyelash Perming?

A. Eyelash Perms are a semi permanent beauty procedure that creates a curl in your natural lashes that will last for the life of the eyelash. The lifespan of a single eyelash is 60 to 90 days or 3 months. Eyelash perming will keep a lasting curl all the way thru the life of the eyelash. The natural process of shedding old lashes and regrowing new fresh straight eyelashes, means this service can be preformed again and again.

Q. How is Eyelash Perm performed?

A. Eyelash Perm is a lot like the usual hair perm. Lashes are coated with an adhesive and curled around mini rollers. This holds them in the curled position that you're hoping to achieve. As you squeeze your eyes tightly shut, a perming solution or cream is applied to your eyelashes with a tiny brush.

Q.What are the results of an Eyelash Perm ?

A. The curl in your lashes will last anywhere from four weeks to three months. As your lashes grow and fall out (the life cycle of lashes is about 60 to 90 days), the effects become less noticeable.

Q. What are the risks of Eyelash Perms?

A. Of course, the procedure isn’t without its risks. Eyelash perming, like many other lash-enhancing beauty treatments, is not FDA-approved. The perming solution can burn eyes and the skin around them and can incur damage, including irritation or burning or even blindness.
